Why People Are Protesting for Palestine Around the World
Recently, huge protests have erupted in cities around the world, including Italy, New York, and London, in solidarity with Palestinians. Many people are upset because of what they see as ongoing violence, occupation, and the displacement of Palestinians from their homes.

Some protesters have even shut down streets, ports, and public transport to make their voices heard. Yet, surprisingly, many major news outlets barely mention these protests, or they report them as small crowds. For example, in New York City on September 26, 2025, thousands marched in the streets, but some news reports described only “a dozen” protesters. This has led people to question whether big media is downplaying the movement.
The protests reflect a broader frustration: people feel that Palestinian lives and rights are being ignored while global powers, including governments and corporations, continue to support Israel. Activists argue that standing up for human rights should not be controversial, and that the media has a responsibility to report the truth.
In simple terms: people everywhere are speaking out because they see injustice, but many feel the world isn’t listening — and the mainstream media isn’t helping.
